Week 3 Cincinatti Bengals - 14 vs Carolina Panthers - 30

In a move that shocked many Panthers fans this week was the trade of Jonathan Stewart to the Bengals for Andre Caldwell, a 2nd round pick, and a 3rd pick earlier in the week. They felt they needed to dissolve the two man running combination and focus more on one of the backs as the Panthers were at home against the Bengals this week. Carolina was shaky in the early goings as in the first quarter, a blown coverage happened and the defense looked confused as Brandon Pettigrew caught a 51 yard bomb from Eli Manning. The composure of the Panthers didn't weary though as on the next drive, Jimmy Clausen was able to drive his team down the field and Deangelo Williams was the target of a 6 yard pass for the touchdown. On the kickoff though, the turnover bug would hit the Bengals as the returner fumbled it and it was recovered by the Panthers where Jimmy Clausen would find a open Steve Smith in the middle for his 2nd touchdown of the game. From there the defense would be able to hold up Cincinatti as they would not score another touchdown until the 4th quarter and by then, the game was out of reach by the ground control game of Carolina as the Panthers start the season 3-0.
